Vetafram Triple C is a broad spectrum antibiotic powder for ornamental birds. Comes from The house of Vetafarm Australia, a world renowned bird supplement and medicine manufacturer. Used as an ideal “first line” antibiotic, broad spectrum action is useful on the exact bacteria is unknown or multiple groups of bacteria is suspected.
For the treatment of organisms susceptible to Chlortetracycline by drinking water medication or by adding it to the food. Susceptible organisms are E.coli (Enteritis) and Mycoplasma spp.(Chronic Respiratory Disease), Chlamydia psittaci (Psittacosis). Suitable for all kinds of birds including parrots, pigeons, budgies and ornamental birds. Suitable for use a first line antibiotic in birds.
Triple C should not be mixed in drinking water with any other products. The effectiveness of Triple C will be reduced if calcium supplements are present in a bird’s diet, and discontinue the use of calcium during antibiotic treatment. Probiotics treatment will be beneficial after completion of antibiotic course. Effective when administered in either food or water. Can be used as prevention for Psittacosis once per year for 45 days. Not to be used on birds intended for human consumption.
Dosage: Parrots 5.0g/L In Water (1 tsp/qt).
Finch/Pigeon 2.5g/L In Water (½ tsp/qt).
All ornamental birds 5.0g/kg In Dry Food (½ oz/6 lb).
All ornamental birds 10g/kg In Hand Rearing Food (1 oz/6lb).
Remove all sources of unmedicated water and prepare fresh solutions daily. Remove sources of grit and calcium for the duration of treatment. Supply medicated water for 5-7 days (Psittacosis 45 days) in glass, glazed or plastic containers.
