Sezofit epilepsy, anti-convulsant and seizure formula from Opuspet is usually prescribed for dogs & puppies suffering from various kinds of seizures whose symptoms can be one of twitching, shaking, jerking, stiffening, tongue chewing, foaming, tail chasing etc. These seizures are caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
Contains potassium bromide which is known for its effect to reduce seizures by inhibiting electrical activity in the nerves as bromides increase and chlorides decrease. The bromide ions have a smaller hydrated diameter than chloride ions and therefore passively cross the neuronal channels more readily. Bromide distributes into the brain’s CSF and interstital tissues and is transported out of the CNS via the choroid plexus. KBR is excreted through the kidneys, the dosage should be decreased in renal dogs. Not a problem for liver as it has no hepatic metabolism.
Jatamansi present in seizofit is a brain tonic and has antioxidant properties. Mandukaparni helps reduce anxiety and has a calming effect on the nervous system.
Also contains cyanocobalamin Vitamin B12 whose deficiency aggravates seizures. Choline chloride has positive effect on the central nervous system, liver, and muscles.
Comes in a highly palatable chicken flavor that can be given directly or mixed with food.
Ingredients: Potassium Bromide KBR, Cyanocobalamin, Choline chloride, Jatamansi, Mandukaparni.
Usual dosage is 1.5ml per kg body weight for 1st five days and then 1ml/3kg bodyweight per day. Dosage can be divided into morning and night. Suitable for dogs & puppies only.
