Bentopril is a heart medicine from Zenex AH that contains pimobendan and benazepril. It acts as Ionotrope + ACE(angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor for CHF(Chronic heart failure). Long-term use for dogs suffering from heart problems is desired. It helps control the body’s maladaptive neurohormonal response like RAAS(Renin angiotensin aldosterone system). Contains pimobendan and benazepril in a ratio of 1:2. It also helps reduce fluid buildup and increase cardiac output in dogs.
Pimobendan & Benazepril are European Medicines Agency-approved formulations for dogs suffering from cardiac disorders. Recommended in cases of Atrioventricular valve insufficiency & Dilated cardiomyopathy.
Usual dosage is 0.25 to 0.3 mg pimobendan/kg body weight (& twice the same amount of benazepril) or as directed by prescribing veterinarian. Bentopril tablets should be given 1 hour before meal.
Not to be given to cats. For dogs only.

Available in 2 doses: Bentopril 2.5/2.5 containing 1.25mg pimobendan & 2.5mg benazepril formation and Bentopril 5/10 containing 5mg pimobendan & 10mg benazepril formation.
